Grindon’s Upcoming Events

Here are our upcoming events at one of the nicest and most versatile venues in Grindon:-

Messy Church – Grindon Church Community Project invite you to join us on the second Sunday of each month.  The next fund afternoon is on Sunday  April 14th for at 3.30 for fun craft activities, stories, songs and lots of fun. As much fun for the adults as well as the little ones! All ages from babies upwards (no upper age limit!) are welcome and a shared tea rounds off the afternoon.

Learn to use a Computer –  for complete learners and those who may struggle to get a computer to do what they want it to do!  Our IT  room will be manned by an experienced teacher who can help take you from no knowledge to being able to use a computer to browse the internet, fill in forms online, social media, price comparisons etc. A series of guided sessions can be followed by using the room for more advanced things with someone on hand if you get stuck! Drama Workshops with the Cultural Spring and Theatre Space North East.   Thanks to Cultural Spring we have an eight week workshop programme delivered by the skilled group from Theatre Space North East.   Starting after the Easter Holidays.  The workshops are tremendous fun for everyone and are a great opportunity to be ‘someone else’ for a couple of hours.  Please contact GCCP or Cultural Spring for more details and to book a place.  Also Young Drama for the 6-11 yr olds with an introduction to acting skills and performance from the beginning to being in front of an audience.

Self Defence –  Starting again soon – join the very successful Self Defence Course run by Shinzen-Ki Karate . Please contact Shinzen-Ki or GCCP for further details and booking.  Increases self confidence and learn techniques to defend yourself in a variety of situations. Suitable for all abilities the sessions are tailored to the individual taking part.

Gentle Exercise sessions for 50+ –  Wednesdays at 10.30 – a range of exercises to familiar music at a gentle pace.  Getting fit without the sweat!   Improve fitness, balance, stamina and make friends. Includes chill time to relax afterwards.
